The Detroit Baptist Union exists to serve American Baptist Churches and Outreach Ministry Organizations within the Metropolitan Detroit Association of American Baptist Churches of Michigan. 

The Detroit Baptist Union offers financial assistance in various forms including:

• Loans for local church building projects.

• Consultation services to local churches in the area of accounting procedures, and budget formation.

• Grants for various Outreach Ministry Organizations within American Baptist Churches of Michigan. 

• Facing the Challenges Grant program which enables churches to respond to the needs of changing communities.

• Seminary Scholarship programs for American Baptist students who are responding to a call to ministry.
